Our website has grown so much over the years that it was time to redesign it to better serve you. We received a grant from Legacy Foundation, Lake County's Community Foundation, to redesign our site to improve its function and design.  We hope you find the improvements we have made to our site useful and informative.

Beulah Bondi

Ms. Bondi had a successful stage career before coming to film in 1931. She immediately stepped into mature roles even though she was only in her early 40's. Bondi played Jimmy Stewart's mother in four films. Her first public appearance, at the age of seven, was in the title role in Little Lord Fauntleroy in Valparaiso, Indiana, where her father had established a real estate business three years after her birth in Chicago.
