Whihala Beach: About 1/3 mile beach side trail along Lake Michigan’s waterfront.
Gibson Woods/Hammond: About 3 miles of wooded trail, flat terrain along the dune and swale topography of the nature preserve.
Lake Etta/Gary: About 1 mile of wooded and waterfront trails, flat terrain.
Three Rivers: One & 1/4 mile asphalt trail around the lake, flat terrain, somewhat wooded (note: the trail is open around the lake, but limited access next to the construction area for the coming Three Rivers Discovery Play Center)
Deep River: About 8 miles of wooded, hilly trails along the river south of Wood’s Historic Grist Mill
Oak Ridge Prairie: About 5 miles of trails in flat terrain through woods and prairie.
Stoney Run: About 8 miles of trails, flat and hilly, mostly wooded terrain.
Lemon Lake: One mile paved trail around lake and woods - some hills. More than 5 miles of primitive trails in hilly wooded terrain.
Buckley Homestead: One mile bark chip trail around park, some hills and woods. Additional trail around back 80 acres, hilly with some woods.
Grand Kankakee Marsh: More than 30 miles of flat trails on levees that dissect and connect the Grand Kankakee Marsh. Woods, river and wetland abound in this birding haven.
Turkey Creek Golf Course: Golf with a pull cart and walk the course (during off peak times)
Erie Lackawanna Trail: About 1.6 miles of this 12-mile asphalt trail are maintained by the Lake County Parks.
Oak Savannah Trail: Eight miles of wooded asphalt trail from Griffith to Porter County .
Cedar Creek Golf Course: Golf with a pull cart and walk the course for enjoyable exercise
